The PS5 has been given a November 12 release date for fans in Canada, Japan, USA, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea & Mexico. Unfortunately, fans in the rest of the world will have to wait until November 19 for the PS5 to launch. The digital-only version of the console will be available for CAD $499, while the version with a disc drive costs CAD $629.
MarketWatch announced shares of Sony Corp. jp:6758 fell in Tokyo trading early Tuesday, after Bloomberg said Sony was reducing its estimated production for the fiscal year by 4 million units, to 11 million, because of production issues with the console's custom-designed chip. Sony is preparing for a challenging holiday-season console battle with rival Microsoft Corp.
Xbox Series X: 4K Gaming Console, Priced at $599 CAD
Microsoft's entry-level Xbox Series S that'll launch alongside its more powerful Xbox Series X, cost CAD $379 and $599, respectively, and launch Nov. 10, two days earlier than PlayStation. Another sweet option, they'll also be available on a payment plan of $25 per month and $35 per month, including access to a bundle of the company's gaming social network and other subscription services.
